As County Commissioners, Kathy Castor and I have stood up to powerful special interest groups to improve education and increase funding for local schools.  Kathy and I have worked locally to protect and provide for all children.  I know Kathy will continue to fight for them in Washington.  We have also been working together in the bay area to protect our health and natural resources through our service on the Old Gandy Bridge/Friendship Trail Oversight Committee.
