Re-election for Florida’s 14 Congressional District

Finding Solutions and Standing Up for You

U.S. Representative Kathy Castor is a native Floridian who has dedicated her career to serving her Tampa Bay neighbors. As Tampa Bay’s Congresswoman, Castor has delivered new resources for workforce training, housing, infrastructure and education. She is a champion for affordable health care, like the cap on insulin prices, and clean energy to power our community.

Kathy Castor is focused on finding solutions for you. As a proactive representative, she stands up to grow the middle class and boost small business owners so everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed. She is committed to a diverse and strong Tampa Bay economy that keeps costs for families in check, keeps health care and energy affordable, and protects our environment and way of life.

First elected in 2006, Kathy is the first woman to be elected to U.S. Congress from Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.

Working for Tampa Bay

Kathy believes that creating better-paying jobs and safer communities are top priorities. She puts people over politics to bring jobs to small businesses and economic engines across the bay. She has helped nearly 3 million Floridians get access to affordable health care, has landed investments in the state’s solar energy industry, and recently helped pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill that will bring tens of thousands of jobs to our community like the Tampa Riverwalk, St. Pete Sunrunner, and repairs to roads and bridges.

Kathy is an independent voice who has taken on tough special interests. Kathy is our champion in protecting jobs and keeping oil drilling off of Florida's beaches. If re-elected, she will focus on Tampa Bay, not Washington D.C., and will continue to support small businesses, protect our water, lower the cost of housing and healthcare, fight for women’s rights and voting rights.

Kathy is committed to the health and economic security of our older neighbors and has worked consistently to strengthen Medicare and Social Security. While some Republicans in Congress seek to undermine our country's promise of security to older Americans, Kathy continues to stand tall to protect Medicare and Social Security.

Working for a clean energy future is at the forefront of Kathy's agenda. Born and raised in the Sunshine State, Kathy understands the importance of working to protect our environment. She chaired the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis which developed much of the landmark policies for cleaner, cheaper energy and community resilience in the historic Inflation Reduction Act.

Kathy is committed to supporting servicemembers, veterans and their families who call the Tampa Bay area home. She successfully fought for and secured substantial investments in the Haley VA Medical Center and MacDill Air Force Base. She passed the Honoring Our PACT Act to expand VA health care to more than 3.5 million veterans.

Kathy's focused attention helps our region maintain a thriving community and a healthy economy. She successfully fought for and secured substantial investments in our public schools, the University of South Florida, the Haley VA Medical Center, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa International Airport and the Moffitt Cancer Center. She has also delivered essential support to community redevelopment in South St. Petersburg.
